Mixing government and business in Tempe

I was down on Mill Avenue in Tempe on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 and noticed this truck which appears to be owned by the DTC Inc, which is Downtown Tempe Community Inc.

The truck had a logo on it's door which said Parkit - Downtown Tempe Community.

In Arizona government license plates almost always begin with a "G" and that is why I think the license plates on the truck are government license plates.

The truck's license plate is

G 526FX
Which you can see from this photo.

My question is why on earth is this truck which is allegedly a privately owned vehicle have government license plates on it?

The DTC or Downtown Tempe Community Inc, is a private corporate that is run for the interests of the businesses on Mill Avenue in downtown Tempe.

DTC Inc, is NOT a government agency, nor have anything to do with the government of Tempe.

OK, but now we have to forget how government is SUPPOSED to operate and talk about how government actually does operate.

The equal protection clause of the Arizona Constitution says that the government has to treat everyone the same. The government is not allowed to treat some people special.

The is also a gift clause that says the government is not allowed to give people free stuff.

Of course that is how government is supposed to operate.

Government usually doesn't work that way and in reality the special interest groups which help our royal government rulers get elected frequently get the people they elected to break both of these clauses in the Arizona Constitution and give them special interests along with money and gifts.

In this case the city of Tempe is a member of the DTC.. Not only is the city of Tempe a member of the DTC corporation, the last time I went down to the Arizona Corporation Commission and looked at the records on the DTC, the city of Tempe has also placed members of the Tempe City Council on the board of directors of the DTC corporation.

Sounds like Fascism doesn't it.

Fascism is just a big word for mixing government and business. Hitler did a lot of it and so does the Tempe City Council.

So I suspect that since members of the Tempe City Council, which is a government entity are on the board of directors for DTC Inc. which is a private non-profit and non-government corporation I suspect the royal members of the Tempe City Council are mixing business and government and allowing the DTC to place government license places on it vehicles so they don't have to pay taxes.

I suspect that is illegal. But don't expect the Tempe Police to come arrest the members of the Tempe City Council, who pay their wages. That ain't going to happen.

Now we have one other problem with the government entity, which is the City of Tempe and the private, non-government corporation the DTC or DownTown Tempe Community Inc.

Oddly despite being a non-government entity DTC is in charge of managing all the parking meters in Downtown Tempe.

That seems odd, because citing people for parking violations and making them pay parking fines sure sounds like something that only government entities can do. Not non-profit private corporation like the DTC inc.

I am not sure exactly how this works, but it looks like DTC employees patrol the streets of downtown Tempe looking for cars that are parked at expired meters and the private non-government DTC employees then write the cars parking tickets.

I would suspect that only government employees like cops are allowed to write parking tickets, but I could be wrong on this. I wonder why on earth DTC employees are allowed to write parking tickets?

Now it gets even weirder.

When the employees of the private non-government DTC corporation write you a parking ticket in downtown Tempe, you don't go to a court run by a judge from the private non-government entity call the DTC.

Nope, you instead go to the Tempe Court system which is a government entity run by the city of Tempe.

Now that is interesting. In downtown Tempe, you can receive tickets written by a private non-government corporation. But when you go to court on these tickets you go to a government court, run by the city of Tempe.

What on earth is going on here????

What ever it is it stinks and I think the problem is the corrupt government of Tempe giving special favors to the DTC Inc or Downtown Tempe Community Corporation.

Here are three more photos of the DTC Inc truck which was parked on Mill Avenue, just north of 5th Street in Downtown Tempe.
