Ironman gridlock By ROBERT ROBB Wed, Nov 21 2012 10:27 AM On Sunday, I spent a half-hour trying to get from Scottsdale to Tempe before giving up. The Ironman whatever had every route blocked except Loop 101, which of course was a parking lot. Cars were scrambling for an alternative, like someone had stepped on an ant hill. Blocking off main arterial streets for these kinds of things flunks a utilitarian analysis. Less obstructive routes have to be possible. |
