Tempe continues it's war on homeless people!!!!!

Tempe continues it's war on homeless people!!!!!

This week I used the restroom at the Tempe Public Library and there was a signed posted that said:

The following is not permitted in this facility:

  • Bathing
  • Brushing Teeth
  • Washing Clothes
  • Grooming & Shaving
  • Unsanitary Activities

Any person that violates this ordinance will no longer be allowed in the facility.

Tempe City Code Chapter 23 Section 23-40.

A week or two ago I was at an arts and crafts show at the Tempe Senor Center which is in the same complex as the Tempe Library and there was a similar sign telling homeless people to get lost!

I looked up Tempe City Code Chapter 23 Section 23-40 and it says this:

Sec. 23-40. Prohibited activities.

SNIP

(a) The following activities are prohibited in all city parks, unless otherwise posted:

SNIP

(5) No person shall use any water source at any city park or city-owned property for swimming or bathing, animal swimming or bathing, washing clothes, cleaning fish or other unsanitary activities, except at places designated for such activities;

It sounds like the tyrants at the Tempe Public Library and Tempe Senor Center who hate homeless people made up a few things. Tempe City code above does not forbid:

  • Brushing Teeth
  • Grooming & Shaving

This isn't the first time I have seen government nannies who hate homeless people make up laws.

In a number of Phoenix parks there are signs posted that say it is illegal for homeless people to bring their shopping carts into the park.

The tyrants at the Phoenix Parks and Recreation made that law up.

The Phoenix city code has no mention whatsoever of "shopping carts" in it.

The Phoenix city code does make it illegal to operate bikes, skateboards, roller skates and other wheeled devices in a reckless manor.

I suspect the tyrants in the Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department used that to make up the non-existent law about shopping carts being illegal in parks.
